Authors Eluka Moore, Larry Puzniak, Marianne Welsh and illustrator Kristen Gau have released End of the Rainbow Fruit Salad, the first book in a series of recipe-adventure stories created to teach and entertain young children.

Ideal for early child development, End of the Rainbow Fruit Salad uses the art of cooking, colorful illustrations and critical thinking lessons to make learning both educational and fun for kids. From counting and colors to food exploration and fun problem solving, this Kitchen Club Kids’ book gives parents a reason to start cooking and helps to establish healthy eating habits. As an added bonus, each story features a rhymey-good-timey recipe that can be prepared in the kitchen by cooks of any caliber.

“As parents, we all want what’s best for our children, most especially when it comes to education and instilling healthy nutritional habits,” says Moore, co-creator and Word Chef. “Combine that belief with our love of cooking and you can easily see exactly what inspired us to create the Kitchen Club Kids’ book series.”

Taking advantage of quality time in the kitchen and preparing healthy foods isn’t the only lesson Kitchen Club Kids wants to share with its readers. The co-creators are also committed to give back to those in need in their local community. As a result, a portion of all book sales will go to support area food-based charities in St. Louis.

“Sharing is one of our team’s core values. And, a big part of that involves giving back to our communities. We want to support organizations that offer healthy food options for those who may need a little assistance to feed their families,” says Marianne Welsh, co-creator and Word Chef.

Moore and Welsh hope that their Kitchen Club Kids’s book series will help turn story time into a culinary learning adventure for both parent and child alike.
