Souls of Liberty Album Release

The music video I was a part of on December 26th for Souls of Liberty has been released! I didn't mention in my previous article that the reason I know about Souls of Liberty is because I went to high school with Ryan and Tenelle (Metro High School, because I know you're wondering)! But that doesn't mean they aren't really popular--they were the opening act for Kendrick Lamar and Wale! I really like their 10,000 campaign, based on the practice expounded in Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers, and I think it demonstrates their work ethic, which combined with their obvious talent and eye, has definitely set them on the path to become millionaires. And their video looks great!

You can find the video for Future Millionaires here. I've been listening to it at least once a day since it was released! The part at the end is the part of the filming I attended and appear in. You can see the pictures of the filming here.

Souls of Liberty Show & Prove Why They're "Future Millionaires"

SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI (February 26, 2014) – Independent duo, Souls of Liberty, turn up the grind with the release of their free album, "10,000 Hours," approaching in March. "Future Millionaires" is an autobiographical look into the lives of Ryan Escobar and Tenelle Donta on their mission to take over the St. Louis music scene and, of course, their first one million dollars. Ryan Escobar makes his official directorial debut alongside Semir Dergic.

The "Future Millionaires" anthem shows exactly how the Souls are aiming to reach the "young business owners [and] future millionaires." The lyrics in each verse prove Ryan Escobar and Tenelle Donta have the wisdom and determination to conquer all barriers the music industry throws at them daily. The Souls do not hesistate in getting listeners to get active in their own lives with "10,000 Hours," the duo's free album which is scheduled to be released on March 20. St. Louis producer Klevah! produced "10,000 Hours" in its entirety.

"10,000 Hours" will be the precursor to the Souls of Liberty's next project, set to be released in the 3rd quarter of 2014. "10,000 Hours" is only the beginning to the Souls' mastery of their music grind. The 10,000 hours principle derives from psychologist Herbert Simon and William Chase, and was popularized by Malcolm Gladwell in his book, Outliers.

Souls of Liberty #10KHours Campaign Pledge

The Souls of Liberty have accepted the responsibility of creating their own path in the music industry. However, the Souls are more than artists. They are examples of how hard work, perseverance, and faith can change any situation. The Souls’ purpose is to inspire and guide their community through their achievements.

The Souls of Liberty have proven to be able to galvanize their fans to focus on and a support a particular call-to-action. Luckily, the Souls have not requested their supporters efforts in vain and have won multiple vote-in contests. Attending and organizing offline engagements will create even deeper relationships with supporters. The online numbers for the Souls are impressive. Hosting online discussions and speaking directly to supporters offline will increase the reach of the tandem. Viral content will introduce easily sharable media, ultimately creating a true movement in support of the Souls.

Their first two projects showcase music filled with laidback deliveries, smooth hooks and college-inspired visuals. The production is unique and consistent because the group has an in-house producer in Klevah! With a firm understanding of what works for their career, musically, the Souls can become known, more widely, as a promising duo with an original style.

The Souls of Liberty have a commendable resume, having opened for Kendrick Lamar, Wale and having performed multiple shows in their local areas. There is a lot of ground to cover in order to secure the reputation that the Souls of Liberty are an investment worth making. The first investment begins in creating this album, the music videos, viral videos, securing digital distribution, buying ads, and proper planning. A successful campaign run will help in creating a more desirable brand for music listeners and partnering brands alike.

Aside from lacing music listeners with a distinctive music experience, the secondary mission of this campaign is to build leverage for the Souls’ next music campaign. This leverage will allow the Souls of Liberty brand to get press more abundantly for their marketing activities; to be more enticing to booking agents and music supervisors; create & manage an innovative fan engagement system; and generate profit through merchandise, shows, and music licensing.

Souls of Liberty are a melodious rap duo focused on pushing the envelope sonically, lyrically, creating a music business empire, and becoming legendary artists. The Souls' music comes equipped with clever rhymes and raw life experiences. Ryan Escobar and Tenelle Donta cultivated their name and perspective from the harsh realities native to their St. Louis upbringing. The Souls have held steadfast to their vision and progression, which has earned them features on DJBooth, The Smoking Section, HipHopDX, Kevin Nottingham as well as opening spots for Kendrick Lamar and Wale.
