While not the most exotic of destinations, Cleveland has it going on. Drew Carey was right. Gorgeous buildings are plentiful and people of all shape, sizes and colors are bustling about in all directions. The light rail system pretty much goes everywhere unlike Metrolink, which only goes where the countyites think it should
I travel alone often for these swanky festival trips but I am never really alone since I spend most of my time in crowded theaters or people watch while I am inhaling free food in the hospitality suite. Tower City where the festival is held is a marvelously ornate old school complex of buildings. I am a bit jealous of how totally swell it is and wish Union Station was this awesome. Maybe Bob O'Laughlin and the LHM team can turn it around.
I have not identified any one signature food dish like our beloved Imo's, but clearly lots of meat lovers here. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a short walk from here. It's a shrine to music that all Americans should see someday. Two or three different sports stadiums are downtown and rarely a day goes by when I don't see proud Indians or Cavaliers fans scurrying about. I know civic pride when I see it.
I miss my dusty house, my rambunctious dogs, and my man. Somehow I will summon the strength to get by. I did see a fantastic Swedish biopic this morning, but later walked out of the lame stoner comedy. Dude, what were you thinking? Later today I visit Italy, Argentina, and back to the states for a sex comedy. If you need me, I'll be in the last row, right side, aisle seat.
Signing off from the wilds of Eastern Ohio.
