New Mural in Grand Center

Written by
Something that has really got me excited is what's happening at Dancing in the Street on September 21st. First off, for those of you that don't know, Dancing in the Street is a free outdoor dance festival that features an array of talents on three different stages on the closed off section of Grand and Washington Boulevard. What's got me excited is the mural that has been painted over the course of a couple weeks on the wall next to the Moto Museum and Hotel Ignacio. The unique thing about this wall is that it mixes art and technology together.
The Mural, with the use of the Re+Public app on your phone or tablet, is interactive. All you have to do is download the app on your IOS or Android based device and point it at the painting. At this point, you can move parts of the painting around or have it jump off the wall in 3D space on your device. Although I don't have a cell phone or tablet with those capabilities (I know. I need to catch up) I think it's still amazing! This new technique that has been used in cities like New York and California is a great way to get the younger generation involved in the arts.
Below you can see some photos of the work in progress as well as a quick video interview I did with the digital artist. Stop by, download the app and enjoy something different.
