"The Lyons" Roar at COCA!

Written by

A completely dysfunctional family and a father with terminal cancer don't usually add up to an evening full of laughs...but that's exactly what Nicky Silver's black comedy provides.  "The Lyons" will have your roaring!  Max & Louie Productions brings the St. Louis premiere of this play to COCA August 22 - September 1.    St. Louis' Judi Mann will take on the role of the overbearing matriarch that Linda Lavin recently played to perfection on Broadway.   This production will also unite two theatre legends after more than a quarter century apart - director Wayne Salomon (Theatre Dept Chair at John Burroughs School) and actor Bobby Miller who plays Ben Lyons, a man who can't wait to say goodbye to his family.  Tickets are available online or at the box office with group, student and senior pricing available.

The production made the cover of the Riverfront Times last week and last Sunday's A&E section of the Post-Dispatch.  For more interviews and articles, peruse their Facebook page or Twitter accounts for links.

Synopsis: The Lyons is about a family grappling with the impending death of its patriarch. When Ben Lyons' wife, Rita, and their grown children gather to say goodbye, they learn that despite being a family, each of them is utterly isolated. Afraid of closeness and afraid of solitude, they are propelled into foreign territory - human connection.  Full list cast and crew are available on the company's website
