Beauty will literally meet the beasts this Friday night at America's Best Haunted House, The Darkness in Soulard.  Playboy model Ashley Salazar and writer/artist Bobby Ray Akers Jr will be lurking about in the Monster Museum to promote the recent release of the graphic novel “Vengeance of Sleepy Hollow: Origins.”  To commemorate their visit, Akers has created a special collectors edition trading card to be given out free to guests (while supplies last).  Salazar is the character model for Dark Jill in "Origins."

After touring the haunt on Friday, fright fans will get an early Halloween treat.  Salazar and Akers will be lurking in the Monster Museum during the operating hours of 7:30pm – 12:30am.  In addition to the free exclusive trading card, special promotions for the evening include a discount on “Origins,” photo and autograph opportunities with both and a sneak peek at Akers’ Halloween release of “FROSTY: 'Twas The Night Before The Apocalypse.”

“Origins” is Akers’ new multimedia re-imagining of the classic tale.  The secret history of the headless horseman is revealed and the stage is set for his return to exact final justice and vengeance. It explores the tragic tale of a hero and his fall into darkness through the eyes of the dead and the mind of a brilliant yet disturbed woman.  “The Vengeance of Sleepy Hollow: Origins” is available online through Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com world-wide.  Examples of the hyper-realistic artwork featured throughout this book can be found on Akers website

Nearly one million fans have visited The Darkness since it opened in 1993.

The Darkness is located at 1525 S. 8th Street in St. Louis’ Soulard neighborhood south of downtown.  Ticket details and complete operating schedule information are available online at www.Scarefest.com.  The horror masters at The Darkness also operate Creepyworld Haunted Screampark in Fenton, MO, and The Haunting of Lemp Brewery, both of which are open for the season.
