Talia Wiley is an intern here at OnSTL and was born and raised in St. Louis. To her, St. Louis is like a family member; natives are allowed to talk dirt about it, but outsiders are never allowed to talk about her beloved home. Parkway North is the best high school in the area in her opinion (only because she graduated from there). She now attends Lindenwood University and plans to graduate in December 2015 FINALLY! Her greatest joy and the reason for the bald patches in her head is she is a mother of a two-year-old. She enjoys long walks in the park. Actually, no she doesn’t, her allergies are terrible. When she is not chasing a toddler that refuses to put on his pull-up or working on mounds of homework, she enjoys cooking, spending time with friends, obsessing over DIY projects on Pinterest and covering everything in glitter!
Hello my fellow parents! August is here and you know what that means… TIME TO PARTY! I mean time for school to start. I personally do not have to fight the crowds for an incredible amount of useless school supplies just yet since my son is only two. However, since I am a student, I do have the joy of searching for the best bargains for myself. I thought I’d share some tips with you to help you save some money, time and hopefully your sanity. These are all the rules I was taught by my mom. She’s the school shopping QUEEN!
I am a part of the Mommy to Mommy: St. Louis group on Facebook. A few days ago, a mom suggested that we all play a game called “You know you’re a mommy when…” I immediately jumped at the opportunity to share one of the many moments of parenthood that makes other parents say, “Oh yes! Been there!” I had so many to choose from, so I decided to share my top ten “mommy moments” with my beloved readers. Ok, here we go! You know you’re a mommy when:

My son absolutely loves cars, trains, trucks, and basically any kind of transportation and he shares this love of vehicles with his cousin. So, when I heard about the Route 66 Festival and the Great Race in Kirkwood, I knew I had to take them there.
Hello all my wonderful readers! As you may know by now, I am a homegrown St. Louis girl. I love my city and I am beginning to experience it in new ways now that I am a mom. For years I felt like there was nothing to do in St. Louis that did not cost a lot of money. Oh boy, was I wrong! This summer I have decided not to spend all of my free time in the house. I am on a mission to experience St. Louis-based events and attractions with my son. I want him to know his city and to see the beauty of it at an early age. I recently had the opportunity to attend a Circus Flora performance. Here was my experience:
Hello mommies, daddies, and other people who just LOVE children! Welcome to my life! I am Talia. I have a two year old son. I am also a student. I thought since this IS a parent’s blog I should start off with how my parenting journey began! No, I will not bore you with my pregnancy woes, but I will tell you a pretty fascinating birthing story.
